Frequently Asked Questions
Answers about nurse navigation, care management, and getting started with HavenWell.
-
A nurse navigator is a registered nurse who helps you understand and manage your healthcare. I help you prepare for appointments, make sense of diagnoses, coordinate between providers, and stay organized so nothing falls through the cracks.
-
They overlap, and many people use the terms interchangeably. As a registered nurse, I bring clinical knowledge to the role, so along with coordinating your care, I can help you understand what is actually happening medically.
-
Home care agencies provide hands-on help in the home, like personal care and companionship. HavenWell doesn’t replace that. I handle everything outside the home, including specialist appointments, provider coordination, medication questions, and keeping family informed. Many families use both.
-
Some clients come to me after a new or scary diagnosis. Others are managing a chronic condition, caring for an aging parent, or simply want a trusted nurse who knows their health story before something comes up.
-
Absolutely. The best time to have a nurse navigator is before you need one. When I already know your health history, you’re prepared and supported if something ever changes.
-
Yes. Many of my clients have adult children who live far away. I can help coordinate care locally and keep everyone closely in the loop.
-
HavenWell is private pay, which means I work exclusively for you, not for an insurance company or hospital. That allows for flexible, personalized support with no restrictions.
-
No. I don’t diagnose or prescribe. I work alongside your doctors to help you understand their recommendations, prepare good questions, and keep your care coordinated.
